Vacation 2009, Part 3 Gaustatoppen

Gaustatoppen is the highest mountain in the sourthern part of Norway. Mom and I made it to the top this year! The trip down was bad with fog and pouring rain. Quite challenging. The picture shows a cross placed on the way to the top, in memory of a painter wh0 died on the trip. At this time the fog came in and some ravens started to circle above us. That certainly got my imagination going!

While at the rented cabin for a week I did not have access to a sewing machine, so I had a lot of progress on my crochet project. I use Attic24's description for Summer Garden Granny Squares. Ater trying several types of yarn, I decided to use cotton; Mandarin Petit from Sandnes Garn.

Gaustadtoppen er litt av en utfordring, spesielt nedover synes jeg. Må liksom holde igjen, og da blir jeg så støl. Har vært på toppen to ganger, men det er lenge siden nå.
