My father has always been hunting and fishing in the southeastern part of Norway. He has supplied me with these animals, they are caught in snares as a part of a national forestry investigation. The bottom two pictures shows my european mink and my male black grouse. But what animal is the beige animal, caught summer 2008? Is it a runaway polecat? An albino mink? Or is it a siberian weasel? Anybody know? We do not know for certain yet...Added later:
The animal is larger than a mink, in the current position 42 cm (16 inch)from nose to tip of tale. It is caught in summer time. The picture is a little off on color, it is more beige than white (not a winter coat?).

I believe it may be a wild ferret. I think they are common in that place.
If you were in Canada, I would say it's an Ermine! ( akind of weasel)
Lurer på om det kan være en røyskatt, enten om vinteren, eller en unge.
Den er for stor til å være røyskatt, og i såfall skulle den hatt svart haletipp. Størrelsen tilsier vel heller at det er en ilder, men jeg vet ikke om ilder vanligvis er så lys i fargen.
