Summer Vacation 2015

Not much to show for in the crafting section, only these pot holder for my mom (as ordered). I have made many of these, see info in earlier posts.

I had a great week in Lofoten, Norway with my family, parents and uncle. Did get time for some horseback riding at Hov Hestegård, a memorable time "tølting" along the beach.
Icelandic horse Mimir.
I visit the Skral festival in Grimstad and listen to Hozier. <3 <3
Later my husband and I went to England; here are some pictures:
Tracy Park & Golf in Wick
Victoria Park, Bath
The Island Chapel in St.Ives
St. Michael's Mount outside Penzance
The Bear Hotel in  Devizes
My 18 year old son got his driving license this summer, see him drive out of the yard for the first time was a milestone.  He has spent the last fourweeks in the US. He has been a counselor at a summer camp. I even got to read about him in the local paper Leader Telegram! I am very proud of him. The biggest event is though seeing my cabin being built up in the mountains. It actually made me cry the first time I saw it. It should be ready for Christmas. Got to make quilts, curtains, and furniture this fall!
Now back to work!

Hooked on hats!

Hats are the perfect knitting project. Cheap, quick and a endless amount of styles available. You can never have enough hats.  For some reason I seem to loose my hats too....

This is the 8th hat I have knitted of this pattern, for me this time! Instead of Rauma Vamsegarn (100 % wool), I used 2 balls of Dale Continga (alpacca and merino wool).
The pattern (in Norwegian) is available for free at Rauma's page (September 2013).
Had a day off today. My hobbie and I went skiing at Blefjell, Buskerud, Norway. It snowed last night, and the tracks where fresh. Beautiful!

My Jack Wolfskin hat

I got sooo many almost finished projects, here are the easy  hats again. A new beige one to go with my new Jack Wolfskin winter parka. The parka was purchased in Berlin a bit ago, where I also took this picture:
Berlin TV Tower, Alexanderplatz, Berlin, Germany
I made a red one too. I am hooked. I now gave the needles to my mother, so I can work on something else.

More Easy Hats!

I have made quite a few of these hats, this time for my pretty relative Miss C, who spent this weekend with us up in the mountains. She had forgotten to bring a hat, but I mended that friday night. She looks great with a norwegian fjord horse at Langedrag Mountain Farm and Wildlife Park.

A bag for Laura

Pattern: #1172 "Scrap Bag Cuties" from Whistlepig Creek Productions
Straps from Cindy's Button Company (32")
Fabric and pattern was my sister-in law Laura's selection. I was not too exited in the beginning, but I like the final result, it is very much her style! Like a cup-cake with frosting. Pattern and fabric was purchased from Sew & Sew Quilts and Fabrics in Stanley, Wisconsin. Here is one of the front porch decorations, cute!
While shooting pictures of this bag, my cat Harry showed up and wanted attention.

Diva hat

Picture from permin.dk
Knitting Kit: "Diva de Lux hue m /riller", 874801 by Permin. A very quick hat to make, looks good too! A little gold in the yarn will look good when we get closer to Christmas time. The kit is recommended!                                                                                                                                                                               The colors of the ornamental cabbage plant is pritty in fall. Love all seasons, and to explore them with my camera.

Home again!

A great and varied vacation this year, came back refreshed and with some new stash; several handbag fabric and accessories, Christmas raffle projects and some fabric with horse print. First we went to the north of Norway with the midnight sun.
Hawaii, snorkeling with sea turtles, glowing volcanoes and beautiful flowers.
Then to Wisconsin to see family. I did not get much progress on my English paper piecing, but I finished a pair of pot holders for my dear sister in law.
Pattern: Crochet for the Kitchen By Tove Fevang ( pattern slightly adjusted)
A good tutorial on tunisian crochet.
Yarn: Cotton Time by Schahenmeyer, cream and coral. A good yarn that does not split while crocheting!
I am a cat person, but this puppie got to me!

A picture - a moment

Weekend Doings

I got this squirrel picture with my cell phone this morning - a moment. I was sitting by the kitchen table, and he got up really close. My husband put up a small three right outside the window and hung up some bird food, a great way to see birds and other little creators up close. My cat also love this, he sits in the window- shaking all over..

I'm back online!

Yes it's time to get back on track with blogging and crafts after a wonderful vacation! I am almost done with my first project, just the binding to go before I can show it off. I have lots of pictures from my vacation. This picture I shot in Hope, Alaska. It makes me smile. My neighbor suggested the text.
I agree Eddie, those humans really looks suspicious, but don't worry, I'll break left here...
Or maybe a good text would be:  "Hon, what's for dinner today?"
Any more ideas?
See you again here soon!

Peonies and a little romance

Finally, my Peonies (Bowl of Beauty I think) are blossoming. I got the plant for at least five years ago, but moved if last spring when it did not seem to blossom. I moved it to a place closer to the house with loose soil and more regular watering. And today the first flower opened up!

I will also show you a preview of the quilt project I am working on, I feel a new pattern will take shape here!
It is a Moda Jelly Roll called "A Little Romance" purchased from Kathrines Quilte Stue for half price.

Langedrag Mountain Farm and Wildlife Park

Have you ever been to Langedrag Mountain Farm and Wildlife Park?  I have been there several times in the summertime, but it is also highly recommended to go there in the winter. If you are visiting Norway and wants to see the animals, which is hard in the wild, but here you get to see them up close.  The animals on the farm seems to be awake, alert and in good health.  The moose is so huge!
This beatiful lynx I wanted to hug, but it is not recommended.

If you have a dream of dog sledding, here is your chance to do so!
