Candy Wrapper table runners

I made three of these, cute Christmas projects, UFO for a few years. Fabric is all from stash. If I should make this again I would downsize the blocks, and mix in some other blocks too.

Pattern: Norwegian magazine «Familien» 24/2022. It has also been available at quilte.net

"In from the Cold" Table Runner and Placemats

Fabric is "In from the Cold" by Kate Spain for Moda. Design is my own, a simple design is requires for such a pritty fabric line. The picture is taken at Vegglifjell, near Hardangervidda National Park in Norway. From the scraps, I made two placemats, which will be christmas presents for my Uncle R.
I had to make another hat to, for my sister M for christmas.
And I have made a bon-bon for this hat, knitted by my mother. It will be a christmas present for her great-grandson B. Fun with those family projects!

I want to wish all my blog friends Happy Holidays!

Happy Easter table runner

This table runner is inspired by a table runner "Løper med kvadraten fra stripesett" from the book "Lappeteknikk slik gjør du det" by Tove Fevang. This is a basic quilting book that I keep going back to. I adjusted the size of the windows in the pattern to fit the print; 5,5 inches. All strips are 1,5 inches. The print is a traveling gift from DH.

I had a good time in London, although my back acted up a little. The crocus and Easter lilies where up! Lovely jogging in Hyde Park with no ice or snow. Visited Madam Tussaud and did a shopping bargain at Jack Wolfskin. Here is George and I:

North country table runner

I used the pattern "North Country" #038 by This & That, but could not follow it as usual and made my own twist. The fabric is "summer nights and northern lights" by Holly Taylor and green "Crackle" by Moda. The table runner will be a prize in a charity raffle.
Oh my stars! quilt along is officially started for me. I have been discussing to bring in another color or a floral into the quilt, but at the moment I have decided against it.
Last weekend I had a wonderful time horsebackriding in the norwegian mountains! This trip is recommended if you do not mind roughing it!

Summer Table Runner

This table runner is designed  as you go and it is made by using the Bellybutton 6,5 " X-Blocks ruler from QuiltQueen Designs. The fabric is from David Textiles. If you are interested, I can write up a short description on how to make this table runner. The runner will be a gift to my sister-in-law in Wisconsin, who opens her house to us a week every summer. Thank you for dropping by!

Helle's Table Runner

This weekend I participated in a class at Lappemakeriet called "På frihånd med Helle". The instructor was the delightful Helle C. E. Løvenskiold, and she thought us lots of good tricks on applique, free-hand quilting and some finishing tips, amongst others for me a new way to put on the binding. The participants also shared their tips, amongst others I got help with my sewing machine (I have been using the wrong type of needle for my quilting). The finished result from this weekend was Helle's Table Runner in purple, all from my stash. I am very happy with the result!
I have so many projects lined up now. Spending the weekend in a quilt shop did not improve on the situation. I will focus on finishing what I have started before getting into something new. I promise. Dah!!

Table runner from stashed fabric

I had a bunch of triangles left from and earlier project (OK, they were a mistake). I made this table runner from those triangles, designing as I went along... A very quick finish.
The lovely fabric was purchased at Kathrines Quilte Stue.  The fabric I have used earlier to make my Le Moyne Star Wall Hanging that is still displayed in my kitchen.

Quilt Mail

Today I received a card (snail-mail) from Liv in Brummundal. She had won the block lottery last year, including one of my blocks, and her quilt was now done in time for the next block lottery. Congratulations on your finish Liv!
How fun it was to receive this mail, thank you!

I have also finished a second Broken Dishes Table Runner. Most of the scraps are now gone, but the main project (lap-size quilt) is still in line to be quilted... Next goal!

Broken Dishes Table Runner

Another quilt finish, all from scraps! The table runner is inspired by Moda Bake Shop "Choc-O-Cherry Turnover Treat" by The Happie Zombie.

The basic block is called "Broken Dishes", see Delaware Quilts for info on how to make this block. My Broken dishes blocks are 5x5 inches, and the inner red blocks are also 5x5 inches. The corner blocks are 2 5x5 inches  blocks cut diagonally, and the side blocks are 5,75x5,75 inches cut diagonally.

The Broken Dishes block is also presented in the latest issue of the norwegian quilting magazine.

I have also this weekend finished another "We call them pirates" knitted hat, number eight this winter!
