More Fall knitting

This hat is for my dear husband, and is knitted top down, based on pattern "Sotarmossa"over at Garnhumlan. I used Dale Lerke yarn and needles 4 mm. I increased to 30 stiches on each needle. Cast off while purling. Total length of hat is 28 cm. The pattern and hat is recommended!

Another baby set is done also. The yarn is Freestyle. The pattern (slightly adjusted) is from the book Dalegarn No 218, design 21803 by Kari Haugen.

Yes, and I have finished some more blocks for my Oh my stars! project.

Le Moyne Star Wallhanging

The wallhanging is now ready and up in my kitchen, and I am pleased with the result, they go well with my french inspired kitchen. I love these fabrics from Kathrines Quiltestue!
The description on how to make this star by machine I found on the internet page of The Blue Mountain Quilt Guild in California. Note that the start block consists of four sub-blocks. Each sub-block measure 6 1/4 " inch before assembly.
I made a sampler of this block earlier, but I prefer to do them on my sewing machine. If I am going to use this block again, I will make the blocks a little smaller. The size is good for a bigger quilt like a bed quilt or throw.

And I made another pencil case today, this time a circular one.

Le Moyne Star Sampler

In "Quiltemagasinet" No 2, 2008 I found a pattern ("Sømmelige Stjerner") and fabric I liked a lot. But I did not like the way the star was done. When I saw the Le Moyne Star (Åttebladrose) at Lappemakeriet I knew how I wanted it to be.

For this sampler I used Paper Pieces, 3" squares, 3" 8-point Diamond and 3" Half Square. This was not the way to do it for me, so I need to figure out a different way to make this block.

The beautiful fabric was purchased at Kathrines Quiltestue.

This sampler will be given as a birthday present for my sons Great Grandmother.
