I have recently knitted quite a few baby hats for charity. My mother-in-law C also wanted to do that, so I knitted this hat as an example, and sent her this pattern:
Use washable baby wool yarn and needles 2,5 mm.
Cast on 68 stitches on 3 needles. Join. Knit 2, perl 2 for 6 inches.
Decrease on rounds as follows:
- Knit 2, perl 2 together.
- Knit 2, perl 1.
- Knit 2 together, perl 1.
- Knit1 1, Perl 1.
- Slip 1, Purl 1, pull slipped stitch over the perled stitch.
Thread the remaining stitches on yarn and pull tight. Weave in loose ends.

Lovely quick pattern. Love the colour cute hat
This is a cute hat and great modelling by that fine bear! Thank you for sharing your pattern and for linking up with Wool on Sundays :)
Great easy pattern! Thanks for sharing. And I love your bear. My childhood bear was a panda, who looks pretty moth eaten now!
